Who We Are
Think Tifton is the official tourism marketing organization for Tift County. In simple terms, we showcase the very best of Tifton.
That ad you saw in Southwest Georgia Living, Georgia Travel Guide, Southern Living, Travel, Taste, & Tour or Savor Georgia? That feature you came across online?
Yep, that’s us.
We partner with media outlets across the country—and beyond—to share the story of Tifton, Georgia.
And here’s the best part: We promote our community’s locally owned businesses at zero cost to them. Why? Because we believe what’s here is worth experiencing—and worth sharing with the world.
What We Do
We may be a small nonprofit, but we make a big impact.
We operate by welcoming visitors year-round—and serving up a warm welcome every time they walk through the door. Every conversation is an opportunity to connect visitors with the people, places, and experiences that make Tift County special. Beyond the front desk, we’re constantly promoting Tifton through blogs, social media, photography, and digital storytelling. But that is not all, we added “Captain” our Mobile Visitors Center in 2023 as a piece to the puzzle so that we can take Tifton up & down our concrete river, Interstate 75.
We also focus on tourism product development—creating experiences that give visitors even more reasons to explore. From recreation & community-driven attractions and destination enhancements, we’re always building something new.
Our reach extends statewide and beyond through our partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Tourism Division. We manage listings on ExploreGeorgia.org, as well as attend the State of Georgia Governors Conference as well as the Annual Meeting with our friends from the Georgia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus —all to keep Tifton top of mind across Georgia.

Our mission is simple:
To position Tifton and Tift County as a must-visit destination.
We focus on promoting experiences that enhance the visitor journey and reflect the heart of our community.
We proudly feature:
- Public events and festivals that draw visitors
- Locally owned businesses with a unique, authentic & Friendly City feel
- Attractions, restaurants, shops, and services that serve travelers
- New and creative experiences that showcase our community’s character
We do not promote:
- Chain or franchise businesses
- Experiences that do not meet visitor expectations
- Businesses or services that are not tourism-focused or visitor-ready
How We Decide
All promotional opportunities are carefully curated by our staff. We may even “secret shop” to ensure quality and consistency, we cannot send a visitor to your establishment when you are not open during your posted hours.
Promotion is always:
- Free of charge
- Earned—not guaranteed
- Based on tourism value and visitor experience
