Mr. Tifton

On a beautiful evening in Fulwood Park, the Tifton community came together to celebrate a man whose name has become synonymous with our city, Mr. Tyron Spearman.
For more than 30 years, Tyron has served as the director of the Tifton-Tift County Tourism Association, dedicating his career to sharing the heart of Tifton with visitors from all over. His passion for promoting local events, his love for small businesses, and his unwavering pride in this community have helped make Tifton not just a place to live, but a true destination. From local festivals and concerts to major tourism initiatives, Tyron has always been the driving force behind the scenes, ensuring that Tifton’s story reaches far and wide. His dedication, enthusiasm, and hospitality have earned him a nickname that couldn’t be more fitting: “Mr. Tifton.”

Now, that legacy has a permanent home. The stage at Fulwood Park, a place that has hosted countless concerts, celebrations, and community gatherings — will forever bear his name as the J. Tyron Spearman Stage. It’s a tribute to his decades of service and the countless memories he’s helped create in the place he loves most. As the music stopped and the lights came on, friends, family, and community members raised a toast, not just to Tyron, but to the spirit of Tifton he embodies.
Here’s to Tyron, to Tifton, and to many more nights of music, laughter, and community on the J. Tyron Spearman Stage.
